We’re ready for Osun guber election â $” INEC declares

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has stated that it is ready for the Osun State gubernatorial election slated for July 16, 2022.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC in the state, Professor Abdulganiyu Olayinka Raji, stated aside election products, which would be provided days to the survey, the commission has put whatever in location for the gubernatorial election.

Prof Raji made this disclosure on Tuesday during a roundtable conversation with stakeholders in Osogbo.

The INEC employer guaranteed free, reasonable and reliable elections in the Osun State governorship poll stating all hands are on deck.

Speaking throughout the stakeholders meeting, the INEC boss said, “Aside from the delicate products which can’t be provided except for days to the election, INEC has actually made arrangements for whatever, and more by production of polling systems which is tantamount to extension of citizens’ gain access to.

“We also make more provisions through technological advances.

“It would be recalled that the last time polling units were produced was 1996. INEC had not come to be. It was NEC (National Electoral Commission). There have been boosts in the electorate every election year. We hence developed 753 more ballot systems making 3,758 polling units in overall.

“Also, our advanced technology can identify functions; facial and biometrics, though we have not triggered the latter. We will also hire 25,000 persons to work with us during the gubernatorial election.”

Professor Raji afterwards urged all stakeholders, media specialists, traditional rulers, politicians and the public to work together with the Commission to get wanted outcomes.
