AFCON 2021: Super Eagles have 2 difficulties– Nigerian protector, Troost-Ekong

Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong, has stated Augustine Eguavoen’s guys have 2 difficulties ahead of their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tie against Guinea-Bissau at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua, in Cameroon.

Troost-Ekong said winning the continuous 2021 AFCON and receiving the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year are the 2 difficulties of the Super Eagles since they promised for each of them.

The Watford star spoke during his pre-match interview ahead of Nigeria’s Group D final tie with Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday night.

Nigeria currently tops Group D with 6 points after beating Egypt and Sudan in the ongoing AFCON, while Guinea-Bissau remains in the 3rd position with a point.

“We will face a strong challenger and we will work the same method to win. I have experience in this competition and I attempt to utilize it to improve,” Troost-Ekong stated as estimated by CAF Online.

“We began to believe in ourselves after a series of failures and now we continue to succeed and we will improve much more.

“We have two challenges, the Africa Cup of Nations and reaching the World Cup. Nothing is simple and we all promise to eliminate for each of them.”
