EPL: We are in race for top 3– Tuchel confesses defeat in title bid

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has admitted they are now in a race to complete in the Premier League top three.

Tuchel states he is not happy with the scenario, but declares he is comforted with the Blues in the Carabao Cup last, still in the Champions League and FA Cup.

He will likewise travel with his squad next month for the Club World Cup.

When asked whether when he took the task he would have believed being 13 points behind was good enough, Tuchel stated: “No, obviously not. We would never have actually accepted that previously. Never ever. But this is the truth now and just because it is like this, not whatever is bad.

“If you think that to inform the story that method, it is fair enough and we can take it. We understand what we do and we know what we are up for. At the moment we are 13 points behind and we are in a race of leading 3.

“So this is the scenario and from there we go. However we would not have accepted it one year back. I would not have actually accepted it four weeks back and I did not accept it when we reached City in the moment that we are.

“That is what makes us and I am absolutely comfortable to not accept it due to the fact that I work for Chelsea and we play for Chelsea, so when we play, we play to win.”
