2023: Orji Kalu hints on running for President after Tinubu’s declaration

Hours after All Progressives Congress(APC )leader, Bola Tinubu, declared his 2023 presidential aspiration, previous Abia Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, likewise announced his objective to contest. The Senate Chief Whip, however, specified that he would run if the APC zones its presidential ticket to the South-East. Kalu spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday.

The legislator thanked groups and individuals urging him to toss his hat into the ring as the next basic elections approach.

Kalu kept in mind that the development meant individuals discovered him deserving to provide excellent governance to Nigeria.

On project posters bearing his image sighted in some cities, the previous governor stated the final decision would be made known in due course.

“I want to continue to thank people who are installing my posters all over Nigeria. I have not comprised my mind whether to compete for president or not.

“But if chance is provided to the South-East, I will reconsider to see if there is room due to the fact that the party has not said where they are zoning the president to”, Kalu included.

The Senator expressed confidence that the APC will produce a President who will work for the unity of the country.

At a meeting with advocates last Thursday, Kalu said President Buhari might amaze individuals of South-East ahead of 2023.
