The last weekend actions across Europe saw Nigerian players performing for their respective clubs.

There is a lot of positive showing from Nigerians abroad in as much as Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr gears towards his preparation ahead of the AFCON 2021 qualifier next month.

It was an encouraging weekend for Nigerian with a lot of top performances across the globe.

However, there are 11 players that stood out last week.

Goalkeeper

Maduka Okoye

The shot stopper was in goal after his recent positive performances at club and international level.

Defence

Tyronne Ebuehi

The right-back was impressive for his Dutch side FC Twente as they claimed a comfortable 0-3 away win against modest side Williem II.

Ebuehi was in action for the entire 90 minutes.

Brian Idowu

The Russia-Nigerian-born defender was on the score sheet though his Khimki side lost 2-3 to Victor Moses Spartak Moscow.

He scored in the 85th minute to reduce the deficit to 2-3 following an assist from Mohamed Konate.

Tosin Adarabioyo

The Anglo-Nigerian centre-back was in action for Fulham as they drew 1-1 at Sheffield United. He was on the pitch for his side in the 90th

minutes.

Zaidu Sanusi

The FC Porto Left-back was on from start to finish as they drew Sporting CP 2-2 away from home.

He assisted Mateus Uribe’s 25th-minute equalizer. He was booked in the 20th minute.

Midfield

John Obi Mikel

John Obi Mikel was on the pitch from start to finish as his Stoke City side defeated Luton Town 0-2 away from home.

He shielded his sides back four in aplomb to ensure they kept a clean sheet in the tie.

Ovie Ejaria

The Nigerian attacking midfield player was in action for the entire duration of the game.

His Reading side could not make the most of his immense talent and midfield creativity as they drew 0-0 at the Riverside Stadium with

Middlesbrough.

Attackers

Chidera Ejuke

The winger got the goal that made it 2-0 in his side CSKA Moscow 3-1 win over Dinamo Moscow.

He lasted 62nd minutes and was replaced by Nayair Tiknizyan.

Victor Osimhen

Nigeria’s power striker Osimhen was on target in the 43rd minute of SSC Napoli’s 4-1 home win over surprise package Atlanta.

He was replaced by Coach Gennaro Gattuso in the 88th minutes with Andrea Petagna.

Paul Onuachu

He was on target for RC Genk in their 2-1 win over Sporting Charleroi at home. Onuachu lasted the distance but was booked in the 82nd

minute.

Ademola Lookman

The talented winger was on the score sheet as he produced an individual (moment) brilliance to give his Fulham side the lead.

He scored in the 77th minute and was on the pitch for the entire duration of the match against Sheffield United.

Substitutes

Kevin Akpoguma-

The defender lasted the distance in Hoffeinhem 0-1 lost to Marcus Reus’s solitary strike for Borussia Dortmund.

Ola Aina:

He was on the pitch from start to finish as they drew 1-1 with Sheffield United thanks to Ademola Lookman’s 77th-minute goal.

Simeon Nwankwo:

He converted his spot-kick in the 12th minutes to give Crotone a 1-0 lead against Juventus.

But the Turin giants equalizer in the 21st minute through Alvaro Morata’s goal as it finished 1-1 apiece between Crotone and Juventus.

Joshua Maja:

The Bordeaux striker scored in the 83rd minutes as they lost 3-1 away to French giants Olympic Marseille.

He was introduced in place of French star Hatem Ben Arfa in the 66th minutes of the game.

Sheyi Ojo:

The talented winger Sheyi Ojo scored the winner for his Cardiff City side away from home.

They beat Preston North End 0-1 in the Sky Bet (English) Championship.

He lasted for 79th minute while he scored the only goal of the match in the 52nd minute of the tie.
