Adulterated Fuel: FG Reveals Next Line of Action

The Federal Government has exposed the next action it is taking following admission that adulterated fuel was imported into the country.

FG on Wednesday stated it would carry out a major investigation into the adulteration of fuel in Nigeria.

Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum, stated the investigation would reveal the reason for the unsafe amount of methanol in gas imported into the country.

Sylva spoke while addressing State House Correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, conference.

The minister divulged that those responsible for importing adulterated fuel would be exposed throughout the examination.

“There will be a major investigation to unwind everything. We need to get to the bottom of it before we can come back to inform you what will take place to the perpetrators,” the Minister stated.

He likewise disclosed that the Federal Government would take into consideration Nigerians whose cars and trucks were damaged after utilizing the adulterated fuel.

“We understand that some people’s lorries must have been damaged, that is likewise going to be considered in dealing with the scenario,” Sylvia stated.
