Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, has commented on goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy’s foul against Dominic Calvert-Lewin following his side’s Premier League 1-0 defeat to Everton.

Mendy fouled the Everton striker in the first half of the encounter to award Carlos Ancelotti’s men a penalty.

Gylfi Sigurdsson then converted the penalty to give the host all three points against Chelsea at Goodison Park.

Speaking on the development, Lampard insisted that Mendy’s foul against Calvert-Lewin was not clearly the Senegalese’s mistake.

“He’s been fantastic since he’s been here,” Lampard said as quoted by Chelsea’s official website.

“I don’t think it was clearly just his mistake either.”

He added, “The mentality of the team to deal with second balls in the early parts of the game wasn’t so good.”
