Arsenal given green light to land top transfer target

Arsenal have been given the green light to seal a January move for Noa Lang by Club Brugge boss Philippe Clement.

It has been reported the Gunners are preparing a £25million offer for the Dutch winger in the upcoming transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to line up his first winter signing, according to Voetbal24, via the Daily Mail.

Arsenal have identified Lang as their top target but will face stiff competition from AC Milan and Leeds United.

Lang has caught the eye of Arteta after his impressive loan spell with Brugge last season as he scored 16 goals in 29 league appearances and was named the Belgian Pro League’s young player of the season.

The 22-year-old then made the move permanent for £5m as his meteoric rise continues.

Brugge would rather keep Lang until the end of the season, but head coach Clement admits they need to be “realistic”.

He says it would be “impossible to refuse” an offer that meets their £25 valuation, opening the door for Arsenal to make their move.

Clement said: “He has done well, but they were also good matches to debut in,

“I am realistic when it comes to these things. If an impossible to refuse offer comes in for him, we won’t be able to stop him in January.

“I’d rather he finishes the season, takes a title and is important, but we’ll see what happens in January.”

Lang has continued his impressive form from the last term and even impressed on the biggest stage earning a man of the match award for his performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League as Brugge held the French giants on Lionel Messi’s debut.

His performances led to him receiving his first international cap for the Netherlands during their 1-0 victory over Latvia earlier this month.

Lang has also drawn comparisons with Neymar following his excellent display against PSG, according to the player’s agent Bart Baving.

He told Calciomercato, via HITC: “Noa is Noa, he has always had this type of playing style.

“He always works hard and has excellent technique, dribbling and vision. He is also an excellent decision-maker and a neat finisher. He is also a generous player, anything but selfish.

“I’ve heard a lot of people say he looks like Neymar, especially after the PSG match.”
