Lorient forward Terem Moffi has celebrated his first hat-trick in Ligue 1.

Lorient manager Christophe Pelissier has heaped plaudits on Terem Moffi following the forward’s impressive debut campaign in the French top-flight.

A virtually unknown figure, Moffi joined Lorient from Belgian outfit KV Kortrijk for €8m last summer.

The striker made just nine league appearances for Kortrijk scoring five times before the move.

The 22-year-old however scored 14 goals in 32 league appearances for Lorient in the 2020/2021 season.

”Terem is a man of gold. It’s amazing the state of mind this player has. He ticks all the boxes of the high level player,” Pelissier told footballogue.

The gaffer revealed he pushed the club’s president to sign the talented forward.

“I really pushed the club and the president saying that he was really the player who fit the style of play that I wanted to adopt,”he added.

“It was a risk that the president took. He said to me “You know he only played 6 games?” I said to him “I think there is a lot of potential that is able to express itself here.”
