The Coordinator of the #ENDSARS protest in Warri, Delta State, Comrade Israel Joe has cried out over alleged victimization by the police.

The human rights activist in a statement sent to DAILY POST, said he has been reinvited to appear before the Police on Thursday in Asaba.

According to Joe,”With the clue I have, they have prepared to charge me for terrorism and Cyber crime due to the alarm I raised following the accident at PTI where the police caused the death of a woman and the child.

“The petition was written by one activist called Wong Box. An inside source told me they are arraigning me along with my colleague in Asaba in the Federal High Court so that we can be remanded to Ogwachiukwu prison.

“This was as a result of the bitterness they already nursed against me for leading the #EndSars protest in Delta State.

“I will appear before them on Thursday, and even if I’m remanded, we will remain resolute in our firm stand against police brutality and victimization.

“The case is being handled by one SP Bola Alabi from state CID Asaba; he was the person who called me personally to appear before them on Thursday.”

When contacted for comments, the Delta State Police Acting Public Relations Officer, DSP Odafe Bright in a telephone chat with DAILY POST correspondent said, “How did he know the reason he is being called? He has not come. He has not known why they’re calling him. He is saying that’s why they’re calling him.

“He has to come first. This is democratic era. Nobody can just infringe on anybody’s right. He has to come and hear the reason he is being called. Even if the Police hold him, it is not the police that have the power to prosecute him. Even if police hold him and charge him to court, it’s the Court’s discretion to know what to do. He should just come.”

The police image maker said he was unaware of the reason the human rights activist was invited.
