The Kidnappers of a reverend father, Mathew Dajo, of the Parish Catholic Church, Yangoji, have demanded for N100 million ransom before the victim will be set free, a member of the church (name withheld) confided in our reporter.

Newsmen had reported that the Reverend father, who was abducted by gunmen at his residence in Yangoji, Kwali Area council, has been in captivity of the Kidnappers for ten days now.

The source said a contact was last established with the kidnappers on Saturday, which he said the Kidnappers were demanding for N100 million as ransom.

“And you know since he was abducted, his abductors did not call until on Saturday and they are demanding for N100 million, but I don’t know at what figure has the man who is negotiating with them has been able to arrive at,” he said.

He said the major problem facing members of the church was how to source for the ransom, even though he said the Church was solely depending on the family members and relatives of the victim to source for ransom.

“And the other thing we are more worried about is that when a reverend father is abducted, it is against the rules of the church to pay for ransom, except the family members, friends or relatives of the victim can take such responsibility,” he said.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command ASP Mariam Yusuf, was yet to pick calls or reply to the text message sent to her in regard to the demand of the ransom by abductors of the Reverend father.
