One of the prominent Yoruba actors who consistently entertained movie lovers in the 90s, Fasasi Olabanke, has passed on. The veteran thespian, widely known as “Dagunro” (a fierce warrior in Yoruba etymology), acted mostly in epic plays that explored major civil wars in the history of the Yorubas.

He is said to have given up the ghost today, June 13, 2019.

Announcing his death another Yoruba actor, Adekola Tijani, through his social media handle, wrote, “gone too soon boss! May your soul rest in peace. Love you boss but God loves you most. Dagunro Alajiga Ogun. RIP’.
